The Rhinegau
Geisenheim lies in the middle of the picturesque Rhinegau which counts to one of the smallest wine-growing areas in Germany. The Rhinegau with his just 3,000 hectares wine-area still belongs to the most important cultivation areas in Germany. Here the climate is especially pleasant and spoils the people like in the south. Not to forget numerous castles, cloisters and vineyards as well as wonderful footpaths and, the Rhine, make the Rhinegau an interesting little spot to earth. Among experts the Rhinegau is also called the Riviera of the north.
From Flörsheim at the Main over Wiesbaden, the capital of Hessen, the rose town of Eltville, until there to Lorch reaches the Rhinegau. Who looks after interest in history, culture and good food, is exactly right in the Rhinegau. For every visitor the Rhinegau gives the right variety.
