Sleeping in a wine barrel – right on our grounds

Not arriving with your own caravan? You can still stay with us: the Rheingau 524 lodges stand right on our grounds. You sleep in a wine barrel, a shepherd’s hut or a camping pod – a separate business with its own booking, but the same meadow and the same view of the Rhine.
Every lodge has lighting, sockets with USB ports and heating; depending on the type, a fridge and a covered veranda come too. Table and chairs stand outside each one. Open from April to October.
The largest barrels on the grounds. A family bed of 200 × 200 cm plus two benches that convert into children’s beds. The Campingfass is the premium version with fridge and wardrobe, the Schlaffass its plainer sister. Both have a sheltered veranda.
Three sizes: “Rheingau Bude” for two with a double bed, “Bude XL” with more room and a wider bed, “Butze” with four bunks for families. All have a large seating area inside. Pets are not permitted here.
The arched shape borrows from hobbit huts. Room for two in a double bed, plus a living area with seating corner and fridge. The wide double doors open onto the Rhine.
The round barrels with the red sun canopy, modelled on historic wine casks. For two people, with either a double bed or single beds. A stable door and a sleeping window frame the Rhine.
The lodges stand on a meadow of their own, some beneath old trees, some out in the open with a view across the site. Short paths lead from there to reception, the pizzeria and the bank of the Rhine. The photographs were taken in early summer – click to see any of them full size.
